Wilsons popularity surpassed the US in 2014 as she landed a part on Showtimes The Affair. In the show, Wilson performed the role of Alison Lockhart who is a young troubled woman from a dark background. Lockhart falls for a married Noah Solloway. Wilson was awarded a Golden Globe in 2015 for Best Actress, Television Series Drama. The show also starred Maura Terney and Joshua Jackson. Wilson said in British Vogue: "I love that I can play characters with two different perspectives." Noah considers Alison with a confident sexually sexy and reckless light. But she sees herself completely differently, which from the inside is dowdy and hidden in shadows, trying not to be noticed. She added: I do believe that America is so moralistic and so judgmental that what is happening on television appears to be a shock. To add more horror films to her list of credits, she will star in an upcoming British film version of The Little Stranger. This supernatural thriller is based off the book written by Sarah Waters.
